dropsha.re is designed with privacy by default:

• No personal information collected: We don’t require registration, emails, or any personal data
• No file content access: All files are encrypted client-side before reaching our servers
• No decryption keys stored: Encryption keys remain in your browser and are never transmitted to our servers
• No tracking cookies: We don’t use cookies or tracking technologies
• No analytics on user behavior: We don’t track individual user actions or build profiles

Technical Data

We only store the minimum technical data required for the service to function:

• Encrypted files: Your files in encrypted form (unreadable to us)
• File metadata: Original filename, file size, and upload timestamp (encrypted)
• Temporary identifiers: Random file IDs for retrieval (no connection to users)

How Encryption Works

• Files are encrypted using AES-256-GCM encryption in your browser
• Encryption keys are generated locally and never leave your device
• Only encrypted data is transmitted to our servers
• Decryption keys are embedded in share URLs as fragments (after the #)
• URL fragments are never sent to servers - they remain in the browser

Data Retention

• Files are automatically deleted after their retention period (7 days for free users)
• No backups or copies are retained after deletion
• Deletion is permanent and irreversible

Third Parties

• No data sharing: We don’t share any data with third parties
• No advertising networks: No ad trackers or marketing pixels
• Infrastructure partner: We use Cloudflare for hosting and CDN services

User Rights

Since we don’t collect personal information, there’s no personal data to access, rectify, or delete. However:

• You can delete your files manually at any time
• You can request information about our technical practices
• You can stop using the service at any time without any data remaining

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Any changes will be posted here with the effective date.
